2 Israeli Embassy staff members killed outside Jewish museum in Washington, DC
IsraAID, an Israel-based non-governmental organization, said the event in Washington, DC, where two Israeli staff members were shot dead was focused on humanitarian aid for Gaza.
The shooting took place outside the building, killing the victims who Israeli officials later identified as Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim. They had been leaving an event when the gunman opened fire, police said.
Police have since identified the suspect as Elias Rodriguez, 30, from Chicago, Illinois. Rodriguez was not previously known to police, who said they believed he was the sole shooter. As of late Wednesday night, he was being questioned by the FBI and DC police.
