Suspects arrested in alleged Michigan high school graduation mass shooting plot

A 19-year-old was arrested and a 20-year-old is being sought in connection to an allegedly planned mass shooting at a Pontiac high school graduation.

Tuesday, Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a fight at UWM Sports Complex, who hosted the graduation ceremony for ATAP (Arts and Technology School of Pontiac), at 6:40 p.m.

However, deputies would learn the situation was more than just breaking up a fight, according to Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard.

While working with UWM security, a family member approached deputies and told them they saw a Snapchat post in which an individual threatened to “shoot up” the graduation ceremony, Bouchard detailed.

Investigators then identified those involved in the fight, where they were and where they went.

Per an investigation, it was determined that the individuals involved in the fight, who had since left the venue, were caught on camera placing packages underneath cars in the parking lot.
