Utah County Krishna Temple struck by gunfire, 30 shell casings recovered

New surveillance video from the Krishna Temple in Spanish Fork shows the moments a car pulls up outside the temple, and opens fire. Temple leaders are calling it a hate crime, and they’re asking for the public’s help in identifying who did this.

2News’ Natalie Wadas spoke with volunteers there—one of them saying she was awoken to 13 gunshots going off early Saturday morning. Now, the temple is riddled with bullet holes.

Vai Warden, president of the board of the Krishna Temple, said it’s a hate crime.

“It has to be. If you say it’s just teenagers acting up, there’s still hatred, because of the repetition of the event, because of the planning,” Warden said.

Warden said the temple was built 20 years ago, and they’ve never had any issues with the community.
