Three 19-Year-Olds Arrested in 2022 Fatal Shooting in Santa Maria.

Three people have been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in Santa Maria nine months ago.

Early Friday morning, detectives and SWAT team members served search and arrest warrants in the 300 block of West Shiela Lane, according to Lt. Daniel Rios from the Santa Maria Police Department Detective Bureau.

The operation was linked to an ongoing homicide investigation related to the shooting death of Adelberto Moises Gabino, 33, of Santa Maria.

At approximately 11 p.m. on Oct. 20, 2022, Gabino was fatally wounded in a shooting and while driving his vehicle near the intersection of Boone Street and Western Avenue.

After a Honda Civic struck a building in the area, police discovered the driver had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was dead.

During Friday’s operation, police arrested Armando Fuentes Chagolla, 19, of Santa Maria without incident, Rios said.

Fuentes Chagolla was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail on two warrants for charges that include felony vandalism, gang member in possession of a firearm, murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and a gang enhancement, Rios added.

“During the investigation, detectives developed information that led to arrest warrants being obtained for two additional suspects in this case,” Rios said.

The other two suspects allegedly linked to the killing were 19-year-olds Irvin Yair Gabino and Noe Soria Bedolla, both of Santa Maria.

Police did not say whether Yair Gabino is related to the man who died in the shooting.

Yair Gabino and Bedolla were already in the custody of the Santa Barbara County Jail related to other crimes, Rios said.

They also face additional charges, including murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and a gang enhancement.

Bedolla returned to jail after police arrested him in late June in connection with a weekend fight days earlier. At that time, police said, he already was out on bail in connection with a shooting and attempted robbery case that occurred near Thornburg and Hermosa streets on Oct. 24.

The three homicide suspects were being held on $2 million bail each, police said.

Police have asked that anyone with information related to the investigation call Detective Whitney at 805.928.3781 x1329 or Detective Peinado at 805.928.3781 x1357.
