Man arrested in OKC after allegedly threatening terrorist action, spitting on officer
A man was arrested in Oklahoma City after court documents say he threatened terrorist actions while also threatening and spitting on a police officer.
According to an affidavit, police responded to a disturbance of the peace call on Saturday at a park near Northwest 122nd Street and Council Road. They found Basim Alhaj Mahmoud, who told the officer that he was Allah and that the officer “was going to suffer Allah’s wrath.”
The officer took Mahmoud into custody, and court documents say the man claimed he was ISIS and “wants death to America.” He also threatened to blow up the White House and said he wanted to kill Americans, adding that he would “get God’s grace” for doing so.
The court documents also say Mahmoud spit on the officer while in the patrol car before threatening to kidnap and kill the officer’s family.
