Suspect dead after SWAT standoff in Pittsburgh’s Allentown neighborhood
A very tense situation unfolded at the Richard Caliguiri Allentown Complex off of Warrington Avenue Friday morning after a barricade situation led to police shooting and killing a man.
The Allegheny County Medical Examiner has identified the man as Mark Coleman, 45, of Pittsburgh’s Allentown neighborhood.
Police said Coleman had previous felony convictions and should not have possessed a gun.
As police were in the process of serving the warrant around 6 a.m. Friday, police said the suspect, later identified as Coleman, fired shots at the officers, with police returning fire.
Ralph Williams said he lives in the building and was woken up by the initial shots.
