Two students charged after bomb incident at Boonsboro High School

The Maryland Office of the State Fire Marshal said two students were charged for a March 19 bomb scare incident at Boonsboro High School.

Officials say the students were charged with false representation of a destructive device, disturbing school operations, and making a false statement to a police officer

The incident happened at 11:15 a.m. when a suspicious device was found in a student’s backpack, prompting a school-wide evacuation.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office and Office of the State Fire Marshal Bomb Squad responded to the incident and determined the device to be a “hoax.”
