Man arrested after claiming he had grenade at Union Terminal, police say
A 44-year-old man is under arrest after police say he claimed to have an explosive device at Cincinnati Union Terminal early Thursday.
Paul Padilla was taken into custody at about 12:30 a.m. after telling Union Terminal staff he had a hand grenade in his backpack and was going to “pull the pin,” newly filed Hamilton County court records show.
No explosive devices were found, and no one was hurt, according to Cincinnati Police Captain Stephen Bower.
Padilla was booked into the Hamilton County jail shortly before 2 a.m. on a misdemeanor charge of inducing panic.
He is being held on an order of “no bond” until he appears before a judge at 12:30 p.m., court records show.
