Maryland police seek help identifying suspects in hate crime assault

Maryland State Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying four individuals involved in an assault and reported hate crime that took place early Saturday morning in Frederick County.

Shortly before 2 a.m. on May 10, troopers from the Maryland State Police Frederick Barrack responded to a convenience store in the 8400 block of Woodsboro Pike following a report of a second-degree assault

A 25-year-old male victim reported being attacked by four unknown males in the parking lot.

The attackers allegedly made derogatory remarks about the victim’s sexual orientation, prompting police to classify the incident as a hate crime. The victim declined medical treatment at the scene.
