Suspect in custody after bomb-making materials found at Walnut Cove home
A suspect has been arrested after materials to make a bomb were found at a home in Walnut Cove.
Authorities said the King Police Department and the Stokes County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant on Neal Road on Tuesday. Officials said this was connected to someone shooting into an unoccupied vehicle on Monday at the Walmart on Ingram Drive.
Investigators said they identified Walnut Cove resident Larry Keaton Brown, 72 as the suspect.
In the home, detectives said they found explosive devices and materials, so the Winston-Salem Police Department’s bomb squad was called in for assistance.
Officials said the neighborhood was evacuated until the bomb squad was able to determine that the area was safe.
