Woman accused of burning down Cobb County church questioned in another arson case

Aries Jordan is accused of starting a fire that burned down Prayer City Eagles Chapel International Ministries in Austell.

The 25-year-old suspect is facing several charges including arson, vandalism and terroristic threats.

An arrest warrant says she also allegedly sent text messages to the church pastor, Raphael Grant, and his wife threatening to kill them.

Jordan appeared in court late Wednesday night. Bond was not set in her case.

Police documents show she was previously questioned in another Cobb County arson case.

On Aug. 18, Cobb firefighters responded to an apartment complex on Riverside Parkway in Austell. A police report says residents at the scene told investigators they thought Jordan had purposely started the fire.
