Youth subject to terrorism peace bond was arrested after bomb threats to 7 N.B. schools

A youth placed under a terrorism-related peace bond this week was arrested in connection with bomb threats that closed seven New Brunswick schools in November.

RCMP allege the youth was engaging in terrorist activity related to the group 764, also known as 764 Network or the COM, which was added to the federal government’s terrorist entity list in December.

Police believe that activity included “extorting victims to self-harm,” making threats to schools, and “producing and distributing online material with the aim of gaining notoriety for the 764 Network.”

On Friday, the RCMP confirmed the youth, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, had been arrested by Fredericton police in November.
