Medina County man arrested for allegedly making threats against mosque, FBI says

A Medina County man has been charged with making threats against a mosque and illegally possessing firearms while using controlled substances, according to federal court documents.

20-year-old Wyatt James Brzoska of Valley City faces federal charges for interstate threats and unlawful possession of firearms while using a controlled substance.

According to a criminal complaint filed in the United States District Court of the Northern District of Ohio, the charges stem from a series of alleged TikTok posts that Brzoska made. According to an affidavit, Brzoska posted videos referencing mass shootings and symbols, including the Black Sun, which is linked to extremist groups.

An anonymous tip to the FBI’s National Threat Operations Center on Nov. 17, 2025, flagged Brzoska’s posts, which initially included a BB gun. Medina County deputies interviewed him at that time. Brzoska told investigators “the threats were a joke” and said firearms in the home belonged to his mother and were secured in a safe.

In late November, Brzoska posted a video containing multiple references to the Christchurch mosque shootings in New Zealand, carried out by 28-year-old Brenton Tarrant. In the video, he allegedly said, “For this Thanksgiving, I’m thinking instead of turkey I’m going to cook 51 kebabs,” which FBI Special Agent Lane DeBellis said likely refers to the 51 people Tarrant killed in the Christchurch shooting.
