Tulsa Police arrest two in apparent swatting call

The Tulsa Police Department arrested two livestreamers in an apparent swatting call Thursday morning.

According to police, officers received a call of a bomb threat near 211 North Elgin Avenue in downtown Tulsa. As officers were headed to the location, the person said he was nearby the Avery Kitchen and Bar and had a bomb strapped to his chest and that he had a firearm and would start shooting people if officers didn’t “come and get him.”

When officers arrived on scene, they began to canvass the area during which the caller said he was standing in a parking garage near some red doors. When officers got to the parking garage, they found four people who were recording a livestream exiting. Officers attempted to talk to them, but they refused and continued to walk away. Other officers detained the four for further investigation.

A records check showed that one of the livestreamers, Noah Boswell, 23, had an outstanding felony warrant and was booked for threatening a violent act among other charges. Another person, Trevor Brinkley, 19, was arrested on an unrelated outstanding City warrant. The other two were released without incident.

Police later determined the call was a swatting call and there was no additional threats to the public or officers. They say the investigation is ongoing.
