Louisiana man linked to terrorist group accused of planning New Orleans attack, FBI says

Federal court documents unsealed at noon show a Louisiana man arrested in connection with an alleged extremist organization was accused of planning an attack in New Orleans.

The complaint and supporting affidavit against Micah Legnon were unsealed Tuesday at the request of the U.S. attorney’s office. Court records show the 29-year-old New Iberia man is charged with one count of threats in interstate commerce.

According to the FBI, Legnon allegedly planned an attack in New Orleans. Legnon was mentioned, though not named, during an FBI press conference Monday that detailed the arrests of four members of an alleged terrorist organization tied to a separate New Year’s Eve attack plot in Los Angeles.
