Atlanta police announce arrest for arson connected to ‘Cop City’ protests
Atlanta police announced Wednesday that a person was arrested last month and faces charges after allegedly committing arson in protest of the Atlanta Public Safety Training Center.
The arrest took place in Summerville, South Carolina, where 23-year-old Seth Brock Spigner is accused of setting construction equipment on fire and spray painting phrases like “Stop Cop City” and “If you build it, we will burn it.” The company has a “loose connection” to the training center construction project in Atlanta, according to Atlanta Police Department Chief Darin Schierbaum.
“I want to put on notice every member of this group: This will soon be you,” Schierbaum said of the arrest.
