1 arrested after FBI, other agencies respond to bomb threat at Anchorage federal building
One person was arrested Tuesday after the FBI responded with other law enforcement agencies to an alleged bomb threat at the downtown Anchorage federal courthouse, an official said.
Few details were immediately available about the threat or the arrest. FBI spokeswoman Chloe Martin said in an email that the FBI “became aware of reports of an alleged bomb threat,” and said there was no “specific and credible information of a public safety threat at this time.”
The person arrested was not identified and charges were not specified.
Some streets surrounding the building were blocked by Anchorage police. Officers left the area around 1:30 p.m. and employees who appeared to have been evacuated from the building returned.
