Florida man arrested day after bomb threats made at North Carolina Lowe’s, Walmart
A Florida man was arrested last week, just one day after a North Carolina Lowe’s and Walmart were targeted with bomb threats.
The threats were made against stores in Rutherford County on March 13, according to the Forest City Police Department.
Police said businesses in the area had to be evacuated while authorities investigated, and had help from several agencies, including the Gastonia Police Department’s bomb squad.
The only Lowe’s in Forest City is right off Highway 74 alternate, and the only Walmart is across the road.
On March 14, police said Charles Aaron Parris — who used to live in Rutherford County — was arrested in connection with “recent” bomb threats. He was arrested in Florida after being identified as a suspect.
